Chin Park, PhD, MBA, RN

Chin Park is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing.  He has a 14-year healthcare background, with six of those years as a registered nurse.  He has extensive experience in hospital pharmacy operations and information systems, nursing administration, project management, and data analytics.

Chin earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Columbia University – School of Nursing, a Master of Business Administration degree from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University, and an Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Ivy Tech Community College.  Chin is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Assembly for Men in Nursing (AAMN). While a student at Columbia University, Chin served on the first executive board of Columbia’s new chapter of the AAMN.

For over seven years, Chin worked in the urban hospital pharmacy setting. As a pharmacy information systems specialist, he led a hospital-wide multi-million dollar medication cabinet deployment project. He provided ongoing pharmacy and medication administration professional development to the nursing staff.

Chin was an assistant director of nursing at a New York substance abuse facility and managed a staff of over 30 nurses in the detoxification and rehabilitation treatment of patients.  He worked as team lead in coordination with the Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, United States Customs, and the New York Port Authority to perform enhanced Ebola screenings to individuals traveling into the United States from abroad.

And just prior to joining the faculty at New York University, Chin was an assistant director of data analysis and was very involved with the New York State sepsis initiative.  He managed the reporting, analyses, and auditing of data for severe sepsis and septic shock patients.  Chin hopes to combine his clinical and professional experiences with his work in the New York State sepsis initiative and thereby contribute to the efforts of Sepsis Alliance in raising awareness.
