Live Webinar: After the Hospital: Longer-Term Impacts of Pediatric Sepsis

Each year, tens of thousands of children are hospitalized with sepsis. Fortunately, with early recognition and treatment, most survive hospitalization. However, many children go on to experience Post-Intensive Care Syndrome-pediatrics, which can involve a constellation of symptoms including new physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges as well as increased healthcare use. This presentation will review the epidemiology of the longer-term consequences facing pediatric sepsis survivors and their families and possible ways to limit or prevent such outcomes.
